You have a something in mind that you would like to consult us about. As our customer, you first need to define the situation. Our service naturally includes the devising of proposed solutions that you can then present to your team. This procedure defines all of the parameters that are important to you or that are stipulated by the legislator.

    2. INTERNAL PRESENTATION

We provide you with a comprehensive set of concept material to enable you to present your solution in-house. Regardless of whether we deliver that presentation or you take charge of it yourself, you will be well equipped and all decision-makers will be able to reach a verdict on a well-informed basis.

    3. DESIGNING TO MEASURE

Before we can provide you with a reliable quotation, we need to gain a detailed knowledge of the facts. To accomplish this, we produce a design matrix which enables us to plan all relevant aspects of our service into an initial graphic solution. This construction drawing then serves as a basis for the precise planning of the entire project.

    4. QUOTATION & ACCEPTANCE

    OUR REFERENCES

MOBILE MAINTENANCE PLATFORMS IN AUTOMOTIVE CONSTRUCTION - HYMER CARAVAN

A maintenance platform is something that should make the assembly of motorhomes much easier because it can help to optimise the operations involved. Even in very confined spaces. Following an on-site analysis by experts from Lock, a manual height adjustment unit was chosen featuring Lock rack and pinion winches, which, once mechanically linked up, and depending on the type of vehicle enables the correct working height to be reached. The integrated access uses a drag staircase to achieve a space-saving design. In addition to the significant improvement in ergonomics, this application ensures a reduction in the error rate and ultimately an increase in efficiency of around 15%.

STATIONARY ROOFWORK PLATFORMS IN THE RAIL SECTOR - PFAFF

Lock drives are almost always used in the construction of roofwork platforms. Lock rack drives are fitted for lateral adjustment of the drawer units. They push the platform laterally to the train with a positive fit. This makes work on the catenary power cable and in the upper area of the train an ergonomic and risk-free operation. Lateral adjustments are possible with Lock rack and pinion gear units with electromechanical coupling action

MOBILE MAINTENANCE PLATFORMS FOR TRANSPORT APPLICATIONS - FIRE BRIGADE

This application established a mechanical coupling between the individual Lock rack and pinion winches. The height of the maintenance platform is adjusted manually. The self-locking feature in the Lock winches has created a safe, sustainable and virtually maintenance-free solution for the customer.

MOBILE WORKING PLATFORMS IN CITY BUS TRANSPORT – OVB

The maintenance platforms of the Offenbacher Verkehrsbetriebe (OVB) are used to conduct maintenance work on the pantographs of its electric buses. Once one of these platforms is in position, people and equipment can be raised electrically to a height of up to 3.9 metres. The roof of the bus can then be accessed via the push units and the fold-out basket railing to enable maintenance work to be conducted.

FAQ – FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PLATFORMS FOR MAINTENANCE, GENERAL OPERATIONS & SERVICE WORK

    FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS

    What maintenance platforms variants exist?

The portfolio of our maintenance platforms includes solutions with rack and pinion jacks, lifting system kits and electric rack and pinion jacks. These can be operated manually or electrically. The modular design principle underpinning Lock technology makes a great many variants possible which means that we can always find an appropriate solution for every maintenance platform. Regardless of whether this involves solutions rigidly mounted on a simple base frame, or mobile modular individual modules or applications with lowering capability. We can even provide underfloor designs.

What drive technology is available for work platforms and maintenance platforms?

The specialists at Lock use all types of drive technology for their maintenance platform. We know from experience that rack and pinion lifting gear combined as a mechanical or electromechanical solution offers great advantages: low susceptibility to faults, minimal maintenance intensity and high durability. In short, the optimum price-performance ratio.

What foundation does a maintenance platform need to have?

Regardless of whether it is mounted on castors and freely positionable in the room, as a permanently installed system or as a wall-mounted application. Together with you, we check the technical conditions in advance.

Are there any unusual requirements? ATEX for example

Specific requirements arising from the place of use or installation of the maintenance platform can be solved without any problems. This means that Lock maintenance platforms can be used in ATEX areas and also in the food sector. The system is always designed in accordance with the standard and in compliance with the Machinery Directive, made of steel or aluminium and suitable for indoor or outdoor use.

What is the maximum stroke speed and stroke length?

Standard Lock technology can be used for speeds of movement of up to 6000 mm/min and for travel of up to six metres. In special applications, an increase in speed and travel is possible.
